Saturday’s 2024 Boorowa Picnic Races offers a huge day of fun and excitement for the whole family.

If you are looking for some heart-pumping excitement this weekend, why not head out to the 2024 Boorowa Picnic Races for some thoroughbred racing at its finest?

Gates open at 11 am on Saturday, May 4 at Boorowa Showgrounds, with the first race scheduled to start at 1 pm.

The six-race program offers something for everyone to enjoy, starting with the excitement of cheering on your favourite horse and rider.

The 2024 Jockeys Bonus 3/2/1 system will be in place:

  • First place - $500;
  • Second place - $300; and
  • Third place - $200.

Fashion and the races have ever been a winning combination, with competition stakes almost rivalling the excitement of the four-legged hoof races that everyone is there for.

Categories for this year’s Fashions on the Field include:

  • Classic Women’s Race Wear;
  • Classic Men’s Race Wear;
  • Junior Race Goer; and
  • Millinery Award.

Suitably dressed candidates are urged to present themselves at the Seretary’s office if they would like to enter the Fashions on the Field, but there will also be a team of spotters wandering through the crowd on race day to steer fashionistas in the right direction.

Fashions on the Field judging will take place between races 3 and 4. There will be a betting arena with local and metro bookmakers on site, as well as a public bar serving beer and an onsite barbecue.

It is a condition of entry that no glass is brought to the race course by anyone attending, though punters are free to bring their own mi-strength beer and drinks in cans and plastic bottles.

Make sure to bring cash because there are no ATM facilities on site.

This family-friendly event is one that everyone can enjoy. Visit https://tinyurl.com/mr3ku62f for your tickets.

Tickets cost $30, with under 16 year old tickets free.
