As part of this year’s Boorowa Woolfest, Boorowa Rotary Club will again be holding their Beanie, Beret and Tea Cosy Competition. This is part of the Australian Rotary’s National Fundraising Day, “Lift the Lid on Mental Health.”
The campaign, founded by Australian Rotary Health’s Vice Chairman Greg Ross, started in 2016 in partnership with Rotary Clubs of Victoria. The event was such a success that it has now been extended to all Rotary Clubs across Australia.
Each year approximately 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness and in order to help future generations of young Australians, we need to look ahead through research and find out how we can prevent this type of illness occurring.
You can support this wonderful initiative by making a donation on World Mental Health Day, Tuesday October 10 to your local Rotary Club or to Australian Rotary Health. The Beanie and Beret Competition is Boorowa Rotary Club’s contribution to this most important event.
There are 10 Entry categories and entry forms are available from various locations around Boorowa and at the Boorowa Community Op Shop.
So please join in and knit or crochet or sew or even weld together a beanie, beret, or a Tea Cosy for a really good cause.
