The Tuesday Table Tennis group now has received a generous donation.

Table tennis for Seniors has been expanded with the donation of a second hand table.

This allows more elderly people to participate in the sport activity held at St Anglicans Church every Tuesday at 10am. Kathy McLennan helps to organise the event and said after she posted a notice on Facebook, a generous donation was found.

“The donor has one they’re not using. Table tennis tables are great when you’ve got young kids.”

Then they become items hanging around the shed in many cases. Her dad David, when aged 86, was the original organiser of the sport offering.

“He liked a bit of exercise, and this is a light and easy way for seniors to do that.”

She said it’s also a social event as it gets them out of the house. It is very COVIDSafe, with a sign-in protocol, sanitising and players keeping their distance.
