Saturday the 6th of October saw the crowds turn up to the Toompang Race track to attend the annual Burrangong Picnic races, which was nothing short of a successful day put together by the Committee. Plenty of race goers attended in their fine Spring Racing attire which was great for the Fashions on the Field event of the day.
The event consisted of five categories with 20 contestants each who were selected by spotters on the day and it was great to see everyone putting in the effort to make it one of the best yet! The judges had their work cut out for them as the display of contestants made the final decisions very difficult.
In the final category of the event ‘Lady of the Day’ the winner was awarded to Cobie Sheehan whose outfit the judges stated as being “very in trend and current” and the runner up went to Melissa Weat. For taking out the event Cobie walked away with $500 cash kindly donated by Dunk Insurance and Main Range Orchards, and gift vouchers to Cint, Blank Canvas by Lou and S&AJ totalling $750 plus a sash with flowers and a bottle of wine! Melissa received vouchers to Julie’s Lingerie Boutique and Stables Day Spa, handbag and a bottle of wine.
Congratulations to all competitors and thank you to all the generous local businesses who sponsored the Fashions on the Field this year.
