‘Call Me Frank’, the popular follow on to previous book ‘Feisty, Fabulous @ 50+’ will be introduced by author Julie Ankers at Hilltops Libraries early next week.
Both books feature candid and compelling stories of life after 50 and are collections of biographical stories, 21 written by women in Feisty, Fabulous & 50+’ and 20 by men in ‘Call Me Frank’. The writers are men and women from around Australia and come from all walks of life. Well-known Hilltops local Rhonda Daly features in Feisty and will give a short presentation. She last spoke about her story in Feisty last year when the book was first introduced to a large crowd in the Young Library.
Julie explained that many women were sceptical when she mentioned that her second book was to be written by men from age 50 to mid 80’s. “They all said it would never happen as men are never open or frank, hence the title!” Julie explained. “I was absolutely overwhelmed by the stories I read, the men were completely open. Some of the stories were incredible. One man in his 80’s told me things that he’d never told anybody. Every time I discuss the book men come forward with other stories, it’s like opening the floodgates”.
