Free Library Concerts Back For 2018

The popular ‘Take 5 on Fridays’ concert series will return this Friday (February 2, 2018), with seasoned musician Judy Barker headlining the first of this year’s free concerts at the Young Hilltops Library.

The concept was introduced in July 2017 and after 22 back-to-back performances, the weekly lunchtime concerts have been firmly established as part of the Hilltops Region’s calendar of events.

Library Manager Ms Janice Ottey said the concerts provide a regular, easily accessible and free activity for all members of the community.

“Performances are presented from 12.30pm to 1pm and members of the public are invited to drop

in and eat their lunch while they enjoy the music,” Ms Ottey said.

“The weekly concert series is a great fit for the library and we have been able to showcase some of the region’s best talents who have represented a variety of musical styles, instruments and demographics.

“We have had tremendous support from local performers, and the segment has found a loyal audience who have made the concerts a regular feature on their weekly calendars,” she said.
