The 69th National Cherry Festival celebrations will open with a new event this year, the Friday Night Street Carnival.
The Friday Night Street Carnival will showcase the best the region has to offer, with local talent and businesses the focus. Boorowa Street will be closed between Lynch Street and Clarke Street to make way for two stages providing entertainment all night.
Local singer Sami Cooke and her band The Jets are keynote performers. Adding to the variety of entertainment are Harry Cleverdon, Luke Harveyson, Leanne Simms Dance Academy, Christine Wishart Dance Studio, Rotary Ham Wheel and the Cootamundra Bollywood All Stars. There will also be demonstrations by Korrupt Indoor Skate, with free skate for the public (BYO helmet).
Local businesses will be open till late, providing the perfect late night shopping opportunity to pick up some Christmas gifts.
Over at Anderson Park, there will be amusements and laser tag, which will be sure to delight the kids and young at heart. The night will come to a close with a sparkly bang with a fireworks display at 9pm.
The Friday Night Street Carnival is on the 30th of November from 5.30-9pm.
