Baldry Sizzles in Spring Scorcher
Saturday was an extraordinarily hot, early spring day off course, yet on course, it was as hot as late January when the scoring was analysed at the end of the day. Members and a couple of Cootamundra visitors competed for a Club Individual Stableford on a drying track and recently cored greens settling in just nicely. Conditions were ripe for a great scoring day.

Michael Baldry took advantage of the conditions and posted a career best round of 80 off the stick (10 better than his handicap) for a massive 46 points. All the planets have aligned for Michael, who most agree has the swing to be a lot lower marker and obviously this round saw him focused for the whole of the 18 hole round. Well done, mate.

Michael ended up 5 points better than runner up Ashley Hall who had a rock solid 41 points. Ashley has been posting some good golf rounds of late and would be a prize catch in a summer comp team, which is just around the corner. Ashley led off the ball comp with his 41 points and then came the next players, all tying on 40 points; Andrew Jones, Herby Manwaring and Darrell Cassidy. Amazing to see that you needed to shoot 4 better than your handicap to take a ball.

The Bendigo Bank Hole in One did not go off in the midst of all of the great scores, yet the ball went to Darrell Cassidy at 4.5m.

This Week
On Saturday, the gents will be competing for their October 2019 Monthly Medal hosted by Fuller Transport. Medals in A and B Grades, event winner and the Guzzlers Mug will be on the line on a very receptive golf course presently. It is a single stroke event and all members are welcome.

The ladies may have a roll up stableford on Saturday, yet Tumut is hosting the South West Ladies Tournament this year and Harden always tries to support the regional golf event. See you on course, Alby
