Harden SES Unit Presentation Of Long Service Awards

Recipients Ken Pearsall, Joan Rawlins and Ros Bickford.

On Saturday 27 October 2018, members of the Harden Unit attended a presentation of Long Service awards.

Recipients of awards were Joan Rawlins, who was presented with a National Medal and Long Service medal for 15 years’ service; Ken Pearsall, who was presented with a 40
year service bar that attaches to his Long Service Medal; and Ros Bickford, who was presented with a Long Service medal for 10 years’ service.

Joan volunteers with the SES Unit’s Driver Reviver Facility that operates in Harden,
adjacent to the Kruger Medical Centre on Albury Street.

Ken is a qualified field operator with the Unit and his expertise and knowledge is greatly
valued by his peers.

Ros has been the Unit’s Controller for the past three years. Ros has also been the Local Controller for the Hilltops LGA for the past 15 months and oversees the operations of both the Harden and Young SES Units. Ros is also a qualified field operator.

Ros is also the SES’ community education and liaison officer for the Hilltops LGA and is only too happy to speak to community groups about learning to be storm safe and preparing their homes when storms are forecast. Ros can be contacted via the Harden SES Unit’s Facebook page.
