The Largest Annual Event on Boorowa’s Calendar

The wait is almost over for the largest annual event on Boorowa’s calendar.
This October long weekend, Saturday September 29 and Sunday September 30, the only place to be will be in Boorowa soaking up the festival atmosphere and joining in the fun of the Boorowa Irish Woolfest.
With crowds expected to be in advance of 10,000 strong, this year’s festivities are gearing up to be some of the best seen yet.
Street stalls, markets, fabulous entertainment along with dog flyball, whip cracking, a fashion parade and many more activities are on offer this year to keep people of all ages entertained! The main day of the event will be Sunday September 30, with the famous ‘Running of the Sheep’ to take place down Marsden Street commencing at 12pm.
The road will be closed during the run of approximately 150 sheep, and it will start at the top end of the street near the war memorial, before finishing some 400 metres down the road near the Police Station.
After the running of the sheep, the spectacle continues with the street parade where approximately 40 amazing floats will roll down the street in a colourful extravaganza. Entries to the parade are still available, so if you would like your chance this year to become part of the Boorowa Woolfest, simply contact the Boorowa Visitor Information Centre or visit
