Sports clubs across the Hilltops are being encouraged to apply for funding in the latest round of the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.

The funding can be used for projects such as promoting grassroots sports development, upgrades to local sporting facilities or boosting training for coaches.
$85,000 is being allocated to electorates considered to be regional drought affected areas, with $35,000 being allocated to all other electorates. The Cootamundra electorate has been allocated $85,000.

Acting Minister for Sport Geoff Lee said, “With the worst drought on record increasing pressure on NSW families, sport’s ability to bring communities together has never been more important.”

“The Local Sport Grant Program is now in its fifth year and provides benefits for social sporting events, the delivery of physical and mental health programs and nurturing the dreams of young talented athletes,” Mr Lee said.

The Local Sports Grant Program closes on November 25, 2019. For more information, visit https://sport.nsw.gov.au/localsport or phone 13 13 02.
