Murrumbidgee Local Health District

Murrumbidgee Local Health District has announced that nominations are open for the 2022 MLHD Excellence Awards, recognising the outstanding contribution of health professionals and volunteers from across the region.

Chief Executive Jill Ludford said the Awards were an exciting opportunity to acknowledge the great work that is being done across the district.

“During my site visits across the region, I see so many great initiatives and projects and excellent delivery of quality service that it’s great to see these staff rewarded for their efforts at the Excellence Award celebrations,” Ms Ludford said.

MLHD is one of the largest employers across the region, with more than 5000 healthcare staff working in 33 hospitals and 12 primary healthcare centres across the region.

While around 50 per cent of staff are nurses, the district also employs doctors and allied health staff, as well as a range of corporate service, support and maintenance staff.

MLHD is also supported by a wide range of volunteers.

The call is now out for members of the public to recognise exceptional service by nominating in a new category - the Exceptional Rural Healthcare Award.

This new award will be presented to a member of staff who demonstrates a commitment to the organisation’s vision of delivering exceptional rural healthcare.

Nominations can be made online at https://forms.office.com/r/Yj1EFgNQjX or by emailing MLHD-feedback@health.nsw.gov.au.
