The NSW Farmers Yass Branch partnered with the Boorowa Rugby Club to hold a Rugby Day last Saturday.

The match was a home game against Young and local Rural Financial Counsellor Fiona Taylor attended to answer questions on government subsidies. There was also a jumping castle for the kids.

Chair of the NSW Farmers Yass Branch Carolina Merriman was pleased with the success of the day, “It was a fantastic day. As chair of the NSW Farmers Yass Branch, supporting farmers, especially future farmers is extremely important to me. Our local Branch want everyone to see that we are here to support them and show them the values in becoming a member of the NSW Farmers.”

“Supporting our next generational farmers is imperative to continue our strong agricultural food and fibre production, which is why we choose to support community events that bring the locals together. It couldn’t be any nicer than watching farmers enjoy a day out with their mates and providing a jumping castle for their kids so that the parents can have a reprieve. The day was also perfectly timed with Men’s Mental Health Week, which is a strong focus for NSW Farmers to support and raise awareness for.”
