There was only limited play during the past week due to the heavy overnight rain late on Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Fortunately, the games for Wednesday night’s round of the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge were able to be completed.

Fourteen teams competed and three teams – TG’s, Howzat and Mellross Harley’s – all scored 14 points. TG’s were the winners for the night.

After four rounds of this competition the leading teams are Young Bees – 57 points, T’s Rule – 52 points, Lachlan Street – 47½ points and ARMA Fabrications 47 points.

There was no play on Thursday afternoon or Thursday night.

The leading teams in the Thursday night division of the Charity Challenge are FATBBOTS – 45 points, Bowl Terras – 43 points, Boof’s Heroes – 42 points and Soccer 1 – 39 points.

It was very warm and humid for bowls on Saturday afternoon but there was no rain.

There were 26 players involved for the afternoon.

Alan Gall and Tom Preston enjoyed the conditions to win the vouchers with a margin of 19 shots.

Other winning teams and their margins were – Harold Anderson and George Somerville (14 shots), Bob Ruhl and Les Fanning (12 shots), Phil Taylor and Cliff Traynor (9 shots), Milan Brankovic, Steve Walsh and Col Chapman (9 shots) and Jeff Jacquier and Ian Schofield (5 shots).

The first round of the Club Triples is scheduled to be played on Sunday afternoon and the draw is on display.

There will be visiting men bowlers from Mudgee here to play bowls on Saturday afternoon.

All bowlers should check the notice board for information about a night bowls evening to be held on Friday 12th as a farewell event for Margo, Col and Meagan Parker who will be moving away later this month.

The club’s annual Cherry Festival Tournaments will take place later this month after not being played in 2020 due to the COVID–19 pandemic.

The Women’s Triples will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday 16th and 17th, Mixed Pairs on Friday and Saturday 19th and 20th and the Men’s Triples from Tuesday 23rd to Thursday 25th.

The Calcutta associated with the Men’s Triples will be held on the evening of Monday 22nd.
