Sunday afternoon’s combined presentation of trophies for the men’s and women’s 2020 Club Championships was attended by approximately 40 people.

The winners and runners–up in the Club Championships were presented with trophies by Men’s President Joe Bargwanna and Women’s Vice–President Margo Parker in front of a very good–natured group of bowlers.

Earlier in the day, twenty-four men and women bowlers were on the green in very warm conditions. They completed two games of 12 ends of three-bowl-pairs with a short break in between the games.

After the second game, the players enjoyed some finger food and cool drinks.

The team of Greg Woods and Sheila Traynor was the only team to win both their games and received the prizes for the afternoon.

During the week, there were 18 players involved on Thursday afternoon. The highest margin for the afternoon went to Garry Fish and Ian Schofield, who won their game by 23 shots. Other winning teams and their margins were Wally Chater and John Cooper (15 shots), Stephen Walsh, Bob Fotheringham and Terry Holmes (4 shots) and Brian Christie and Cliff Traynor (4 shots).

On Wednesday night in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge, the ARMA Fabrications team were the winners on 15 points with Envision also scoring 15 points.

On Thursday night, 3G Mac Attack scored 17 points to be the winners. The blustery wind on both nights made play difficult.

Conditions were good on Saturday afternoon and 20 players participated. The vouchers for the afternoon went to Phil Taylor and Harold Anderson with a winning margin of 17 shots. The results for the other four games produced a very rare sight with all four winning teams having a margin of 3 shots. The teams were Bill Maloney and Geoff Holt, Albert Carter and John Cooper, Colin Chapman and Vic Brown and Andrew Hutchison and Colin Powell.

Thanks to Geoff DeBritt, Colin Powell, Terry Holmes and Phillip Hewson who represented the Club at Stockinbingal’s President’s Day on Sunday.

This weekend sees the start of the District Pairs Championships on Saturday morning. The Open Division will be played at Young, the Seniors at Cootamundra Ex–Services and the President’s Reserve at Boorowa Ex–Services.

The 2021 Pennant season starts on Sunday. The Club’s three sides will be playing at home with the Grade 3 side playing the Grade 4 side and Young playing Boorowa Ex–Services in Grade 5. Players should be aware that trial ends start at 1.10pm and matches start at 1.30pm.
