There was quite a lot of bowls played at the club in the past week.
Tuesday and Wednesday saw the Women’s Triples Tournament and Friday and Saturday the Mixed Pairs Tournament.
In our regular program it was fine and sunny on Thursday and 20 players enjoyed the afternoon on the green.
The winning teams and their margins were:
Aldo Malvicino and Harold Anderson – 24 shots, Col Stokell and Col Chapman – 2 shots, Brian Gibson and Ian Schofield – 16 shots, Albert Carter and Max Penfold – 11 shots and Alan Gall and Cliff Traynor – 11 shots.
Play in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge on Wednesday night saw three teams finish with 15 points and T’s Rule were the voucher winners after a count back.
Win or Lose We Booze and Howzat were the other two teams with 15 points.
The FATBBOTS team were the winners on Thursday night with 15 points.
3G Mac Attack had 14 points and four other winning teams had 13 points.
A very successful Calcutta was held at the club on Monday night for the Men’s Triples Tournament with spirited bidding for some of the favourite teams.
Thanks to all the club members who helped make the event run smoothly and particularly to the auctioneers Joe Bargwanna and Ryan Brown. Ryan was representing Kevin Miller, Whitty & Lennon who are a major sponsor of this year’s tournaments.
