Congratulations to the team of Damien Miller, Kade McKenzie and David Quigley who won the Zone 8 Triples Championship at Narrandera on Sunday. They had a very big win by 34–4 in their semi–final and won the final 27–15 against a strong Temora team.
In the Senior division, Geoff Holt, Peter Watts and Graeme Edgerton won their semi–final but lost the final against Pedro Rudd’s team from Wagga Rules.
At home, bowls on Thursday afternoon saw 16 players on the green in cold conditions. The four margins for the day were 3, 4, 8 and 10 with Aldo Malvicino and Les Fanning claiming the vouchers for the day.
Conditions were much better on Saturday and 24 players took part. The vouchers for the day were sponsored by Patterson Bros Funerals and they went to Ted Loader and Les Fanning with a margin of 17 shots.
The margin of 7 shots was just right for Brian March and Harold Anderson as this gave them the $200 jackpot.
Other winning teams were Albert Carter and Joe Bargwanna (3), Mark Brownlie and Mark Anderson (3), Reg Hayes and John Cooper (5) and Michael Webb and Ged Hardman (4). The first games in the Club Triples are scheduled to be played on Saturday afternoon. The draw for this event and all the games set down for Saturday are on the notice board.
Entries for the Minor Singles close on Saturday 27th July. Entries for the Open Three Bowl Pairs tournament to be played on Friday 30th August close on Friday 23rd August. All players are encouraged to support this event.
