The cold and windy conditions last Thursday morning deterred most players and only four bowlers were on the green.
Conditions were a lot better on Saturday and 20 players took part in Jackpot Bowls. Brian Christie and Cliff Traynor won their game by 9 shots and Greg Woods and Ian Schofield won their game by 5 shots.
The Patterson Bros Funerals sponsored vouchers went to Brad Douglas and Colin Stokell with a 19 shot margin while the 8 shot margin for Brian March and Denis Rosen was just right for them to win the $200 jackpot.
Also on Saturday, the team of Scott Douglas, Peter Watts (playing as a substitute) and Damien Miller contested the Regional finals of the BPL Cup at Wagga Rules Club.
They lost their morning game in a tie–breaker against a strong team from Albury. The Albury team went on to win their game against a team from Wagga Rules with the final bowl of the tie–break end. This meant that the Albury team won the event and will now go on to the State finals.
This weekend, the Zone 8 Champion of Club Champions Singles will be conducted at Temora Bowling and Recreation Club. The South Western District will be represented by Harold Anderson. Good luck Harold in your games.
There are two games of Minor Singles set down for Saturday with Brad Douglas to play Stephen Walsh and Mick Manning to play Peter Berry.
