Anzac Day Jackpot bowls last Thursday afternoon, a good roll up of 34 players. Some mixed results, games with very close results and one big margin. The winners on the day for the vouchers with a margin of 33 shots, Peter Watts and Michael Webb.

The finals of the South West District Singles were completed at the Young Bowling Club on Saturday April 27th. The semi-finals played in the morning saw Russell Boyd defeat George Somerville and Cliff Traynor defeat Harold Anderson. The final was played in the afternoon. Russell Boyd defeated Cliff Traynor in a very closely contested final.

The 2019 Club Pairs commenced on Saturday and again on Sunday.

A big day of bowls on the bowling club calendar is the President’s Day. Next Sunday May 5th is the day, a full day of bowls with clubs from our district and neighbouring towns represented. To all club members, nominate a team and support this important day for the Young Bowling Club.

Other events coming up, Jackpot bowls Thursday and Saturday afternoons. Names in by 12.30pm, play commences at 1pm.

The annual 2 Bowl Triples tournament is set down for June 1st and 2nd, the first Saturday and Sunday of the month. This is a great tournament with prize money of $4020, prizes from 1st to 6th. Nominations are now available. Entries on the board at the Club.

The final of the Club Singles is set down for Thursday, weather permitting. The final between George Somerville and Damien Miller should be a great contest and a game worth viewing.
