The annual Cherry Festival Bowls Tournament concluded last Thursday with the completion of the Men’s Triples event. 42 teams, 126 bowlers in total from all parts of NSW competed. Despite the washout day on Wednesday where no play was possible, the 5 scheduled matches were completed over the 3 days.

The winner from Bega was the team of Geoff Lucas, Lynton Riddell and Howard Blacker with 5 wins and a margin of 62 shots. Second place was a team from Molong, Barry Riley, Wal Whitely and Bob Hamilton with 4 wins and a draw and a margin of 31 shots. Third place, a team from Grenfell, Wentworth Falls, Ray Walter, Nick Darius and Blake Bradtke, with 4 wins and a margin of 34 shots.

The Tournament was a huge success and the input from the Bowling Committee, bar staff, green keeper (Damien Miller and his helpers), the Club volunteers and the chef and his team all contributed to this success.

The amazing sponsorship of 48 local and other business owners was outstanding. The Young Bowling Club acknowledges and thanks every sponsor for their continued support of the 10 day annual Cherry Festival Tournament.
