Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) will continue to support low cost aqua exercise classes in Young starting from 9 November.
Trained volunteer leaders, Lenore Schiller and Robin Cooper have been running aqua classes for a number of years and are excited for the season to start again. “Everyone is welcome to come and join in; the class is for all ages. We always have a great time and a good laugh,” Lenore said “People don’t need to be able to swim to join this class and everyone can work at their own pace for their fitness level.”
“People joining the class should bring a foam pool noodle if they have one, sunscreen, a hat and a bottle of water,” Lenore said.
“Exercising in the water provides all the benefits of regular physical activity and as the body is supported by water, there’s less risk of muscle or joint injury,” said MLHD Health Promotion Officer, Barbara Manwaring.
The classes will run on Mondays at 12noon, Wednesdays at 8am and Fridays at 8am, with the first session commencing on Friday 9th November. Each session will run for one hour. Participants will be required to pay their pool admission and are asked to bring a gold coin to each session.
Anyone interested in joining the Aqua Fitness classes are encouraged to contact Lenore Schiller on 0407 280 605.
