$160 million Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Five

Applications have opened for the NSW Government’s $160 million Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) Round Five.

SCCF data show that to date, Hilltops has received $9,362,240 in SCCF funding, which has afforded, amongst other projects, the following:

  • Boorowa: Boorowa Miniature Golf Course ($100,431)
  • Bribbaree: Bribbaree Show Society Poultry Shed ($110,000)
  • Harden-Murrumburrah: Build new facilities at McLean Oval sporting precinct ($731,405)
  • Wombat: Wombat Oval Improvements No. 2 ($107,698)
  • Young: Young Aquatic Centre Redevelopment Stage 2A ($1,137,526).

It may interest you to learn that the SCCF spend per person in each participating Hilltops town, according to the latest population data (ABS Census 2021), was:

  • Boorowa (population 1,888): $979.81
  • Bribbaree (population 144): $1,156.25
  • Harden-Murrumburrah (population 1,900): $1,203.43
  • Wombat: (population 280): $384.63
  • Young: (population 11,004): $449.98.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said the latest round of the Stronger Country Communities Fund builds on the previous rounds and continues to provide important infrastructure and programs for regional towns.

“The Stronger Country Communities Fund is continuing to make a real difference to the lives of people right across regional NSW, with $500 million invested over the past four rounds delivering more than 2,000 local projects in regional NSW,” Mr Toole said.

“Everywhere I go, people tell me about the positive difference that Stronger Country Communities Fund projects make to their everyday life, whether it’s a new skate park that kids of all ages love, new lighting for sports grounds or programs that support and inspire young people living in the bush.”
