February 22 – Take 5 on Friday Take Five on Friday welcomes a new performer to the 2019 free library concert series, John McLuckie. John is planning some of the best known and most loved Aussie songs to present at his debut performance. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the music. Bring a cool drink, coffee, lunch and friends for a welcome respite at the end of your busy week. The concert will be held from 12.30pm to 1pm. It’s free and everyone is welcome. Young Library

February 23 – Boorowa Rotary Makers and Growers Markets You will find food, craft and products grown, made and prepared by local people. The Old Court House grounds in Marsden Street.

February 23 – Harden Men’s Breakfast Hilltops men and women are invited to attend a “Men’s” Breakfast to be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Binalong Street, Harden on Saturday February 23 from 8am to 10am. Guest speakers are Sue and Geoff Orchison who will give an illustrated talk on their travels in the Holy Land and on daily life in Bethlehem. RSVP’s to Neville Alcorn on 6386 2157.

February 23 – Koorawatha Biker Bash Motorcycle Charity Ride First annual Koorawatha Biker Bash Leukaemia Foundation Charity Motorcycle Ride. BBQ breakfast from 9am and ride leaves 10am from Koorawatha Hotel. First stop is Wallendbeen then through to Coolac for lunch which is included in the entry fee. Travel to Harden and then stop at Wombat Hotel before returning to Koorawatha Hotel by 5pm. BBQ dinner available from 5pm and there will be a local band for entertainment throughout the evening. Prizes to win all day long from raffles generously donated by local businesses from Cowra and Young including all the pubs visited throughout the day. Also have Koorawatha Hotel joker draw and meat raffles on the night. It’s going to be a fantastic day and night so come along and have some fun to help raise money for the “Leukaemia Foundation”. February 24 – Bush Poetry Session This will be the first session for 2019, don’t miss it! Come and join for some uniquely Australian entertainment. They tell yarns in traditional rhyme and rhythm but accept all poetry styles to the ‘Open-Mic’ sessions. Juniors welcome. Come along and give it a go. Maybe you play a fiddle or squeezebox or such. March 1-2 – Boorowa Show Come and enjoy the annual Boorowa Show, with Dog Show Judging. It is a hands-on opportunity to see the area’s majestic fine wool merinos, gorgeous stud cattle, speed shearing displays by skilled shearers, horse events, stunning craft displays, the Miss Showgirl and much more. Unlike major shows, this is a very hands-on experience when you can get up close and personal to the farm scene. Great things to see and do and a true country experience. 9am-5pm. March 3 – Koorawatha Show All the fun of the fair can be enjoyed at the Koorawatha Show Society’s Annual Show. There will be rides, face painting for the kids, decorated bike competitions and races, weather permitting and pets. You’ll also find horse events starting at 9.30am for various ages of riders and horses. There are also yard dogs, chainsaw races and the usual pavilion sections open to everyone. See the stallholders with their array of goods too. This year the society is hosting the Zone 10 Finals of the Junior Judging Competition. The winners are then eligible to progress to the Royal Easter Show to compete against winners from other NSW zones. You are invited to come along and enjoy an authentic village show. All tickets $10.
