Last Thursday, the 5th of September, six ladies enjoyed a game of 2 bowl triples. Zita Farrell, Julie Alavoine and Margaret Gailey luckily won by 1 shot against Sheila Traynor, Ann Gardner and Kate Cooper.

Tuesday the 10th of September saw 11 women competing in a Triples game enjoying every minute of the beautiful sunshine. Honor Stollery, Jill Rosen and Judy Watson battled it out against Honor Stollery (double lead), Ann Gardner and Lee Veitch. Lee’s team won 20/12. On another rink, Joy Murray, Sheila Traynor and Margaret Gailey had a 3- point win against Pat Reid, Heather Bailey and Kate Cooper.

Margaret’s team were the winners based on the number of ends won thus winning the club vouchers. The jackpot did not go off.

On Thursday 12th September, a team from Young joined other District teams to celebrate President’s Day at Cootamundra Country Club President’s Day. It was a most enjoyable day.

This week, the Club Fours Championship will be played with 4 teams competing. The semi-final will be played on Tuesday followed by the final on Thursday. All the best to those competing.

The following week the Club Triples final will be completed on Tuesday, 24th September.

Unfortunately, Margo Parker and Damien Miller from the Club found conditions during their Mixed Pairs championship event in Tamworth very testing. A great effort nevertheless to get to compete at State level.
