The 23rd Boorowa Irish Woolfest is taking place over the October long weekend. There’s plenty to see and do for everyone with an action-packed program running throughout the weekend.

Events kick off on Friday night with the official opening of the St John’s Art Show, which will be open to the public all weekend.

The 2019 Quick Shear Competition takes place on Saturday, before the Boorowa Fireworks and Movie Night lights up the sky.

Sunday is a big day, with a line up of events the whole family can enjoy. In the lead up to the running of the sheep, there will be wood chopping and working kelpie demonstrations as well as performances by Pirate Pete, two different pipe bands and the Celtic five piece Mad Kelpie Playdate. The official opening will take place at 11.40am, before the running of the sheep and the street parade at 12pm.

The fun continues into the afternoon with the Off The Sheeps Back Fashion Parade, Beanie and Beret competition, awards ceremony and Best Irish Accent Competition.

Craft and food stalls will satisfy hungry shoppers, while Tony Joe’s Amusements and Old Kentucky’s Animal Farm will provide entertainment for the kids.

There will be a final wrap up at 4pm as the 23rd Irish Woolfest draws to a close.
