31st Festival Of Arts For Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council

The 31st Festival of Arts opens next week, with the opening night to be held on Friday the 24th of October.

The Festival is held in the Arts Council Building (Old Courthouse) in Murrumburrah.

Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council Treasurer Jane Martin said, “The annual competitive art exhibition and sale is held in October every year and hosts artists from the local area and as far as Canberra and Sydney, and the standard of the artworks is very high. Last year there were 116 entries and this year is shaping up to be as big.”

Artists will compete for the most outstanding artwork of the exhibition in any media, which is awarded the G.O. Kruger Memorial Prize of $1000.

Members of the Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council (HMAC) will compete for the member’s prize, which is awarded $500.

Viewing of the artworks on opening night begin at 7pm, with the prizes awarded at 8pm.

There will also be a lucky door prize and the raffle of a painting by Cootamundra artist, Ann Hand.

Entry to the opening night is $5.

Following the opening night, the exhibition will be open on Saturday the 25th of October, Sunday the 26th of October and Saturday the 1st of November from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday the 2nd of November from 10am until 2pm.
