The 33rd annual Variety NSW Bash will be stopping in Young this weekend.

The NSW Bash will be stopping in Young on day 1 of their 7 day trek this Sunday, the 18th of May at the Young Showground.

They are stopping to award Riding for the Disabled Young (RDA) a grant.

The grant will go towards helmets, harnesses, a saddle and riding boots.

In its 33rd year, the NSW Bash raises funds to support kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability across Australia.

The NSW Bash kicks off at 8.30am on Sunday, with more than 200 participants in 90 themed vehicles rolling out of Mount Panorama in Bathurst.

The NSW Bash will then cover 3000km in 7 days, stopping in Young before heading on to West Wyalong, Coleambally, Hay, Pooncarie, Broken Hill, Ivanhoe, Griffith, Euabalong West, Parkes, Yeoval, Mudgee and finishing up in Newcastle.

Along the 3000km route, partipants will be awarding grants totalling over $95,000 to rural schools and community organisations, helping fund vital educational and recreational equipment.

The themed cars provide an extra special element, both to participants as well as to the towns, schools and organisations they visit along the way.

This year, people can expect to see everything from Scooby Doo to Spongebob Squarepants to Minions to Pokemon to Men in Black to Toy Story.

Participants are required to fundraise to enter their car, with the Bash a celebration of the year’s fundraising efforts.

Bashers then get to see the impact their fundraising efforts have made, with a range of educational, health and mobility equipment provided to local schools and organisations enroute.

Cars are also required to be 25 years older than the year of the Bash, with 4WDs required to be 30 years older.

Head down to the Young Showground on Sunday to show your support for the worthy cause.
