The Lambing Flat Young Branch of the Fellowship of Australian Writers NSW has launched their 43rd writing competition with an official ceremony.

The ceremony was held on Tuesday the 10th of June and officiated by local Member, NSW Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke.

Lambing Flat Young Branch of the FAW NSW representative Susan Rolfe said, “Also in attendance was the Hilltops Council Mayor Brian Ingram, who commented on the obvious passion demonstrated by members of the Lambing Flat Young group, evidenced by the longevity of the group in Young.”

Three sponsors are supporting the competition this year, Young Services Club, SWS Bank and Penrose Funerals.

“Continued sponsorship reflects the community support for aspiring writers, both young and old, in the Hilltops region, and beyond.”

“We are all looking forward to the outcome of this year’s competition. Winners will be announced at the National Cherry Festival in December 2025,” said Susan.

Entry forms are available at the Hilltops Library or by emailing lambingflatfaw.competitions@gmail.com
