Community organisations across the Hilltops region can apply for funding in the next round of the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants program, after applications opened last week.

The funding comes from the Clubgrants Category 3 Fund, which reinvests profits from gaming machines into community projects. The funding can be used for halls, meeting rooms, community transport and infrastructure that supports youth, disability, mental health, homelessness and domestic violence services.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said the economic impact of COVID-19 has been felt across many community organisations. “So many of our local clubs and community organisations have done it tough this year with events postponed and fundraising reduced, which means the important contributions they normally make to our communities has not been able to happen,” Ms Cooke said.

“These groups are the lifeblood for many communities and I want these organisations to not just keep their doors open but to grow and prosper".

Applications close on the 12th of October. For more information or to apply, visit https://www.responsiblegambling.nsw.gov.au/
