BCLG Gears Up For Annual Bush Trip

The annual Boorowa Landcare Grazing Group bus trip will take place on Friday, November 18.

A full-day bus tour comprising three farming properties in Wombat, Young and Monteagle are what is on offer.

Properties on the visit route include:

  • Tumbleton in Wombat, Jake and Gemma Chandler’s mixed enterprise family farm running shorthorn X Angus cows and non-mulesed SRS self-placing merinos, canola and grazing wheat.
  • Hall Family Orchards at Wombat with Chris Hall, who boasts a number of industry accolades, including a National Carbon Cocky Award in 2019.
  • The Fowler family’s farm in Monteagle, which has been operating since the late 1860s, with its merino sheep, wool, cattle and cropping.

The itinerary for the day is as follows:

  • 7:30 am - meet at Magistrates Tea Rooms - Arts and Crafts - Visitor Information, Marsden Street, Boorowa.
  • 7:45 am - bus departs.
  • 8:30 am to 10 am - Farm tour Tumbleton.
  • 10 am to 10:30 am - Morning tea.
  • 11 am to 12:30 pm - Farm tour Hall Family Orchards.
  • 1 pm to 2 pm - Lunch at Grove Estate, Young.
  • 2:30 pm to 4 pm - Farm tour Rosewood.
  • 4 pm to 5:30 pm - On-site brewery beers & cheers.
  • 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm - return to Boorowa.

Registrations are essential and must be made by Friday, November 11 because numbers are limited.

A catering contribution of $20 plus GST per head will be payable. Farm walks are also included in the day, so ensure you wear suitable clothing and footwear.
