Boorowa Gun Club recently held the Boorowa 200 Classic, which included the Garry Martin Memorial Handicap.

As many people are aware Garry passed in 2023 and as a Club and within the clay target shooting community his passing was deeply felt by all who knew him.

The Memorial Handicap was held in his honour on Saturday 22nd November as part of the Boorowa Classic 200 2-day competition. 70 shooters were in attendance and Garry’s brother Peter, and daughter Tina as well as his sister-in-law Patti attended the presentations of the prizes and sashes for the handicap event on the Sunday afternoon. Tina spoke at length of her father’s devotion to the Club and the camaraderie that he felt within the clay target shooting fraternity. Tina’s words resonated with all the assembled spectators and competitors.

It is fitting that Garry is honoured and all who knew him still miss him dearly. Competitors travelled from near and far including Port Macquarie, Majura Park Canberra, Orange, The Forest in the Southern Highlands, Arnhem in the Northern Territory, the South Coast, Bega, Goulburn, Tumut, Wagga and Yass.
