Boorowa Community Landcare Group (BCLG) 2024 Committee needs someone to fill the role of secretary.

The committee meets face to face once every two months and aims to support on ground activities and projects to build resilience aiming to manage and regenerate local landscapes and improve diversity and water quality in local catchments.

Being part of a community group can be very rewarding, helping to create and enhance the community.

The BCLG committee engages with the local community to provide opportunities for networking and sharing of knowledge and experiences to address local natural resources and management needs.

It also supports the employment of a local landcare coordinator in the current NSW Landcare Enabling Program.

By employing local and regional Landcare coordinators to implement strategies and care for the local environment and agricultural systems, local landcare groups are growing the capacity of Landcare across NSW.

As it stands, the committe includes:

  • Paul Cavanagh, Chairperson;
  • Tom Reid, Vice Chairperson;
  • Steve Bunnell, Treasurer; and
  • Tim Fowler, Joanne Mackay and Greg Carnell, General Members.

Anyone interested in the role of Secretary should email officebclg@gmail.com or call 0419 239 492 or 0459 681 018 for more information.

Memberships for 2024 are now due and the group welcomes new members. All members receive newsletters and emails with updates on Landcare activities in Boorowa and the surrounding areas.

Members will also gain insights into other Landcare groups in the South East region and all of NSW.

Membership is for a calendar year and cost $10 for individuals and concession holders, $20 for couples and $30 for families and businesses.
