A very successful monthly competition was held at Boorowa Gun Club on a foggy Saturday 27th July.
Forty eight shooters attended the competition with a great day out had by all.
The first event of the day was the Barry Cooper Memorial 25T HCP. The winner of the Handicap was Bob Churchill from Yass and the trophy was presented by Barry’s son, Casey Cooper. Terry Alho came 2nd after an epic shoot off between himself and Kruno Luketic who came 3rd. Both Kruno and Terry also earned a metre after having shot a 50 target break in the handicap event, congratulations to both of these shooters.
The Central Zone Mixed Target/Dennis Smith Memorial event was generously sponsored by Veronica Smith of Boorowa. Angela Smith who travelled from Bathurst to attend the shoot presented the trophy to Tracey Barton who was the overall winner of the event.
AA was won by Grady Evans, with 2nd going to Kim Nealon from Cowra. First in A grade went to Steven Barros from Sydney and 2nd place was won by Wendy Barton. B grade 1st was won by Russell O’leary and 2nd went to Thomas Dimeglio from Sydney. 1st place in C grade went to the Club’s own Geoffrey Mason and 2nd place went to Vinceñzo Dimeglio from Sydney. Ladies 1st Sharon MacDonald. Veterans 1st Col O’leary. Juniors 1st Rohan Fleming.
The third event of the day was the 30T SB Championship. OA was won by Grady Evans, AA 1st Tracey Barton, 2nd Col O’leary. A 1st Rex Murphy, 2nd Paul Deland. B 1st Bob Churchill, 2nd Damian Rowett. C 1st Ian Crisp, 2nd Vinceñzo Dimeglio.

If you are interested in having a try at clay target shooting, the Boorowa Gun Club is open for practice for members and for beginners every Tuesday evening from 5.00 till 7.30pm. All ages and abilities 12 years and up. Photo ID is required and minors require a legal guardian present.
