Boorowa Gun Clubs January 2021 competition shoot was held on Saturday 23rd of January.

A serious heatwave hitting south east NSW kept numbers down but some very competitive scores were shot with plenty of red on the board.

The Clubhouse and grounds were looking shipshape although somewhat parched by the recent hot and dry conditions. Although hot, a stiff breeze most of the day kept shooting conditions relatively pleasant.

For members and visitors it was the first time that many had returned to competition since early 2020. New arrangements are now in place at the Club to enable a Covid-19 safe approach to hosting competitions. These arrangements such as self nomination through the My Club My Scores App, contactless payment via Eftpos, social distancing etc are all very important.

The Club management appreciates every visitor and members efforts to comply with social distancing and personal cleanliness to help keep us all safe.

The first event of the day was the 50 target Hilltops Council Double Barrel Championship which was won by Andrew Cumberland with the only 50/50. First in AA was Bryce Hallam with second going to Damian Rowett after a shoot off.

First in A grade was Jodie Dunn after a shoot off with Ray Schiller who came second.

B grade was won by Jack Beath with a 48/50 with Geoffrey Mason coming sec-ond with a 47/50.

William Shaw won C grade with a 37/50.

The second event of the day was the 25 target Point Score Graded Cash Divide. AA was won by Bryce Hallam with a 75/75.

A grade was won by Rex Murphy with 74/75.

B grade was won by Geoffrey Mason with a 75/75.

William Shaw won C grade with 53/75.

The final event of the day was the 25 target single barrel Graded Cash Divide. AA was shared between Damian Rowett and Jeff Nash both shooting 25/25.

A grade was won by Don Mcmillan with a 25/25.

B grade was shared between Geoffrey Mason, Jack Beath and Kate Thistleton all tied on 20/25.

C grade was won by William Shaw with a 21/25.

Boorowa Gun Club’s next monthly shoot will be held on Saturday 27th February 2021.
