Boorowa Gymnastic Club was a hive of activity last Saturday when 76 gymnasts with parents and supporters in attendance converged for the Boorowa Club competition.

Almost all members from the Boorowa Club joined boys and girls from Young PCYC for a friendly competition.

Competitors ranged in age from 5 years to the teens.

The first part of the competition was for recreational gymnasts with 46 gymnasts taking part.

Each gymnast was required to perform 11 age-appropriate developmental skills on various gymnastic apparatus.

Every gymnast received a medal for participation and place ribbons were awarded for individual achievement.

Skills performed included handstands, rolls, cartwheels and skipping, trampoline, beam and bar work.

The second session saw 28 girls and two boys compete in Levels 1 to 4.

Two boys competed at Level 2 Men’s Artistic Gymnastics with routines on six apparatus including floor, pommel, rings, bars, parallel bars and vault.

The largest number of representatives from both clubs was in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Level 1 National.

Others competed at Level 2 and 3 National and 3 and 4 Club routines.

Those routines involved floor, bars, beam and vault routines.

Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate the skills that they have been working on and attained over the past year.
