The Boorowa Community Food Hub is open to all community members in need.

Everyone needs a helping hand sometimes, particularly with the rising cost of living.

Fortunately, the Boorowa Community Food Hub established last year is stocked with fresh foods, pantry essentials and hygiene products. The whole community is welcome to use the Community Food Hub on the corner of Brial and Park Streets.

Operated by volunteers and well-supported by the wider community, it provides food and other essentials directly to those who may be struggling financially.

People are urged not to feel embarrassed to come and take what they need. There are no cameras and nobody is around to see who uses the hub.

One of the best things about the hub is that it is there when you need to take from it, but it is also there when you are back on your feet and doing well and can give back a donation or two for someone else to take.

The whole idea is to take what you need and leave what you can.

A small plot of ‘cut’n’come again’ salad leaves and tomato plants are also next to the hub for anyone to use. The salad leaves are ready, just make sure you don’t strip the leaves completely because they will regrow.

The tomatoes aren’t quite ripe yet, but feel free to pick them when they are red.
