Burrangong Gallery Exhibitions Showcase Local Artists

Burrangong Gallery houses rotating exhibitions from the Young Society of Artists Inc (YSA). The current exhibition is ‘Vulnerable’, which features drypoint etchings by local artists Denise Scholz-Wulfing and Kirsten Griffiths.
Young Society of Artists Publicity Officer Heather Ruhl said, “They have created images of local flora and fauna. Denise and Kirsten, connected through printmaking, use this medium to highlight certain species.”
The exhibition opened on Saturday April the 12th and will run until Friday the 23rd of May. Open daily at the Young Visitors Information Centre.
Following on from ‘Vulnerable’ will be the Fibre, Textile and Paint exhibition.
“Special guest artists Judy McAlister and Sue Dunn will showcase their works with natural fiber.”
“YSA Inc members will present their art challenge pieces for 2025 using fibre, textile, and paint,” said Heather.
The exhibition will open with a morning tea at 11am on Saturday the 24th of May.
It will then be open daily at the Young Visitors Information Centre until Friday the 27th of June.
YSA will hold their 2025 Annual General Meeting next Saturday, the 17th of May at 11am at the Young Visitors Information Centre.
“The Young Society of Artists Incorporated invites full members, associate members, Hilltops Arts Inc. members, and any interested parties in the promotion of arts in Young to attend.”
“Attendees are encouraged to share their thoughts to help further the organization’s goal of providing an art program for the local community.”
“Please note that for term 2, the Art room will be open until 7 PM to allow individuals to use the facilities after regular working hours,” said Heather.
A watercolour workshop is also being held this Saturday with tutor Leonie Bell at Studio One above Southern Cross Cinema. Cost is $45 with attendees being asked to arrive at 9.30am.
