National Meals on Wheels Day is just weeks away, shining a spotlight on the vital service.
This year’s theme is ‘Aged care you can count on’, with Murrumburrah-Harden Meals on Wheels celebrating the local volunteers, customers and community who make the continued success of the service possible.
“For more than 70 years, Meals on Wheels has delivered more than just meals.”
“We bring nourishment, safety and a friendly face to some of the most vulnerable people in our community and we do it with heart,” said Flexi Care Manager Maryanne Fitzgerald.
Meals on Wheels is calling on the community to get involved, whether by volunteering, donating or spreading the word about the impact of the service.
A local Meals on Wheels volunteer said, “On National Meals on Wheels Day, we’re asking locals to stand with us and help ensure we’re here for generations to come.”
National Meals on Wheels Day is Saturday the 23rd of August.
