The Cherry Chase: Chase the Colour community fun run event is on this Sunday, the 10th of November.

This is the third year the event is being held, which will take place at the Chinese Tribute Gardens in Young.

This year, the event is being organized by Cherry Queen entrant Brianah Griffin as part of her fundraising efforts. Brianah’s chosen charity is the Lions Club of Young, with funds she raises then being distributed to Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Research. “I’m very excited for this year’s event. There is something for everyone with any ability. I enjoy helping our local community and raising funds for MND NSW means that I am helping make the process easier for members of our local community as they battle this horrible disease,” said Brianah.

The Cherry Chase has three sections, a 5km run, a 10km run and a 2.5km colour run. The cost for an adult (18+) in both the 5km and 10km runs is $15. The cost for a youth (under 18) in both the 5km and 10km runs is $10. Children under 5 years old are free in both runs. The cost for a family of 2 adults and 3 youths is $50. Race entry includes a runner’s bib, runner’s gift, on course support, post-race times and official completion certificate.

The cost for an adult (18+) in the Chase the Colour run is $35. The cost for a youth (under 18) is $25, with children under 5 years old free. The cost for a family of 2 adults and 3 youths is $120. Race entry includes a runner’s gift, bib and on course colour.

Runners can register at http://cherrychase.com.au/ or manual registrations will be taken at Young Sportspower on Saturday the 9th of November from 9am. Runners packs are available to be picked up on the 9th from Sportspower.

The 10km run starts at 8.45am, the 5km run starts at 9am and the Chase the Colour run begins at 11am. Following the completion of the fun runs, there will be market stalls, a community barbeque and live entertainment.

“I would like to thank all our sponsors in our local community for their generous support with this event,” said Brianah.
