The Cherry Chase: Chase the Colour fun run event held last weekend was a huge success.

Over 200 participants registered to run in the event, which consisted of a 5km run, a 10km run and a 2.5km colour run around the Chinese Tribute Gardens in Young. This is the third year the event has run and this year it was organized by Cherry Queen entrant Brianah Griffin as part of her fundraising efforts.

Brianah’s chosen charity is the Lions Club of Young, with funds raised being distributed to Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Research.

Brianah was pleased with the success of the event, “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported me and help raise some needed funds and awareness for MND NSW, my chosen charity. I would also like to say a massive thank you to all my sponsors, my family and friends, without their support and generosity this event would not be possible.”

The male winner in the 5km run was Declan Telfer and the female winner was Mel Webb.

The male winner in the 10km run was Michael Stallard and the female winner was Tania Cahill.

The event was sponsored by a number of local businesses, including naming sponsor Stag Electrical, Solar and Refrigeration.
