The planting day is designed to enhance biodiversity and water quality in the Boorowa River.

The Rivers of Carbon team are hosting a community planting day on the Boorowa River this Saturday.

Beginning at 10am with morning tea at the shearing shed, attendees will then carpool to the planting site.

Staff from the Rivers of Carbon team will demonstrate how to plant native trees and shrubs, before farmer Tom will discuss the preparation of the site and the restoration activities he has been doing on his farm.

Community planting at the site will then take place which will enhance biodiveristy and water quality on the Boorowa River.

There will be a sausage sizzle for lunch back at the farm’s shearing shed.

Following lunch will be a gully walk where the team will discuss the Stream Condition Checklist, which is an easy way to work out the health of a waterway and can then be applied to your own waterway.

The event is free but attendees are asked to register for catering purposes.

Attendees are asked to wear sturdy shoes and wear appropriate outdoor clothing, bringing a pair of gloves if you have them.
