Coronavirus Pandemic Assistance Options Available

Hilltops Council are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of the staff, their families and the community.

Council have taken various proactive measures to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 as well as ensuring that all directives by the NSW Government are implemented.

This is a difficult time for all Australians and there are members of the community who have been affected by job losses, business closures, restrictions and event cancellations. Help is available and those who need assistance are urged to explore the following options:

The Australian Government is providing financial assistance to Australians. This assistance includes income support payments, payments to support households and temporary early releases of superannuation.

The impact of COVID-19 on small businesses is devastating and the toll it is taking on people’s mental health is serious. Below is a list of different ways you can access support. If you’re in isolation, don’t worry – there are plenty of services available to you.

You can access mental health support through various means, such as:

  • your local general practitioner (GP)
  • online and phone-based counselling sessions
  • chat and email based mental health services
  • online workshops and webinars

Residents are reminded that although the Hilltops Council Customer Service Centres are currently closed to the public, the team are still available via phone and email to assist with Council related enquiries. 1300 445 586

Hilltops Council also advises that the NSW Government has issued a Public Health Order for the closure of all playgrounds and skateparks. Accordingly, the playgrounds and skateparks across the Hilltops Local Government Area closed on Monday the 30th of March until further notice.

In the interest of public health Hilltops Council have closed all tennis courts in the Hilltops Local Government Area. This decision has been made following the latest Federal Government announcement to prevent gatherings of more than 2 persons in a location.

Further, the public health need for hand washing and sanitising cannot be met at these facilities.This closure is effective immediately and will be in place until further notice.
