While there isn’t anything out of the ordinary organised for the holiday period at this stage, residents are reminded to continue visiting the Murrumburrah-Harden Community Garden.

Rotarian and passionate spokesperson for the Community Garden, Rita O’Connor said they did have a few things in mind for 2024, but in the interim, the community was encouraged to make free use of the produce. “There will be tomatoes ready for picking and probably some other veggies,” Ms O’Connor said.

Since opening, the garden has grown to be a true and living part of the greater community, with people of all ages and cultures visiting on a regular basis.

It has hosted a number of special events this year, including a NAIDOC celebration, school and preschool activities as well as working bees.

The garden is a hive of activity, with avid green-thumbs working alongside young gardening enthusiasts learning their way.

The Murrumburrah-Harden Rotary Club wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and looks forward to a lot more fun and activity in the garden in 2024.

Don’t forget to take some of those tomatoes and veggies home.
