Entries close tomorrow (Friday the 24th of October, for this year’s Young Camera Club’s Cherry Festival Photographic Competition so make sure you get your entries in. Entry forms can be picked up at the Young Visitor Information Centre.
They are also available from the Young Camera Club’s Facebook page.
The photographic competition has 13 categories to choose from, including two junior categories so there is something to suit everyone.
Adult categories include
- People: Monochrome
- People: Colour
- Open Category: Monochrome
- Open Category: Colour
- Macro/Close Up: Colour
- Birds: Colour
- Animals: Colour
- Architecture/Design: Colour or Monochrome
- Landscape: Colour
- Waterscape: Colour
The junior categories include:
- Under 13 years: Colour or Monochrome
- 13 years - under 18 years: Colour or Monochrome
There are several prizes awarded in the competition, including:
- the Will Sibley Memorial Trophy (Champion Print)
- Helen Berridge Memorial Trophy (Junior Champion Print )
- the John van Rijswijk Memorial Encouragement Trophy (for a Junior entrant)
- People’s Choice Award.
This year, the Margaret Lackersteen Memorial Trophy (for the most successful Local Entry) is also being introduced.
The exhibition will hold a special opening night on Tuesday the 2nd of December.
Commencing at 7.30pm, entry to the opening night is $5 and will include refreshments.
Entry to the exhibition from December the 3rd to December the 7th is $2.
The Cherry Festival Photographic Exhibition is being held upstairs in the Flamingo Room of the Young Services Club.
