Estivo Trio Wows Murrumburah In Winter Concert

The Estivo Trio were given a standing ovation by the wowed audience at Silo Sounds winter concert recently.

90 music lovers attended the concert in the Ross Memorial Church in Murrumburrah.

Ying Ho on piano, Rachel Siu on cello and Fox Chan on violin form Estivo Trio and gave an award winning performance for the enrapt audience.

Stewart Bruce from Silo Sounds said, “These international artists provided, in various combinations, works by Cesar Franck, Mendelssohn and Piazzolla (a subtle and moving tango) before completing their program with a major work by Dvorak - the six movement piano trio in E minor dubbed “Dumky”.”

“For their artistry, technical brilliance and ensemble work, they received a standing ovation from the audience, and many counted it the best performance yet.”

“All three joined the crowd afterwards in the church hall, enjoying the odd glass of wine and the amazing high tea for which these recitals are so well known.”

There was a welcome addition to the atmosphere at the church given the chilly conditions.

“Although conditions were wintery, the audience was very cosy as everyone enjoyed the recently installed reverse cycle air conditioning throughout the church. ““This chamber group made the most of the excellent acoustics of the building, regardless of where folk were seated,” said Stewart.

The final recital for this year will be held in spring, seeing the return of pianist Alexander Yau.

“Alex teamed up last November with clarinettist Deborah de Graaff for the final concert of 2024, but now returns in his own right to dazzle us and show off the magnificent Yamaha S6X grand piano which resides in the church,” said Stewart.

The concert will be held on Sunday the 7th of September at the Ross Memorial Church, Murrumburrah.
