Fancy A Game Of Netball?

After a few years of fostering the community’s youngest netballers with Woolworths Net Set Go, the new Young and District Netball committee is launching their Winter Juniors Competition for girls and boys aged 6 to 13 years.

Registrations are open until Saturday, April 29, with the competition commencing on May 8.

Young and District Netball President, Rachel Douglas said the committee was excited to bring another competition to the community alongside their successful senior comp on Monday nights.

Juniors Coach Coordinator, Sheree Gibson said they were growing the group from the grassroots.

“The mix of skills and game time is so important for our junior players to become confident,” Gibson said.

“We will have 20-minute warm-up skills then a game with 4 by 7 minute quarters.”

The $100 registration fee covers two terms and team shirts.

They will meet on Mondays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm inside the PCYC.

If your child is not sure netball is for them, the group will be holding a ‘come and try’ day on Monday, May 1.
