Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan on display

The Draft Murrumburrah Harden Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan is now on public exhibition.

Hilltops Council is seeking feedback on the study and plan that are designed to assist with planning for and managing the risk of flooding in the Harden Murrumburrah community.

Included in the study are computer models designed to identify the likelihood and extent of flooding in Harden and Murrumburrah, as well as a range of measures that have been investigated to mitigate the flood risk to the community both now and into the future. Recommended measures include physical infrastructure such as drainage upgrades. Improvements to planning and development control and emergency response management are also included.

The study and plan are available for viewing on the Council’s website or hard copies are available for viewing at the Harden Library and Council’s Administration Buildings in Young and Boorowa. The study and plan will be on public exhibition until Monday the 31st of August.

Written submissions will be accepted until 5pm on the 31st of August. Submissions can be emailed to submissions@hilltops.nsw.gov.au or mailed to Hilltops Council at Locked Bag 5, Young NSW, 2594. Submissions can also be hand delivered to Hilltops Council’s Administration Buildings in Young, Boorowa and Harden.
