Hit the Ground Running! It’s certainly what the Councillors have been doing, with the busyness of a new Council term.

It is also the name of a series of 12 webinars run by the Office of Local Government.

Both new and returning Councillors can participate with a wide range of topics covered.

Along with the recent 2-day Councillor induction, they have been very informative.

Please consider submitting your thoughts about Hilltops Waste Services. While we have an overarching strategy document outlining our community’s priorities, we now need to work out how these can be achieved. And the people with the great ideas, are you, the community, the users of the services.

A ‘submission’ can be as simple as a paragraph on village facilities – how they could be safely and efficiently managed to control illegal dumping yet provide the services required.

We need thoughts from residents about minimising waste, maximising resource recovery, while being environmentally and financially sustainable.

Submissions must be written/emailed by midday, 2 March. Let me know if I can help you.

I have been delighted with the positive feel in the community – small acts like mowing a neighbour’s nature strip - caring actions that build community.

Further information on Council’s Waste Strategy and how to make a submission can be found here: https://www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au/council/our-place-community-engagement/
