Harden’s young ladies have started preparing for this year’s Debutante Ball organised by Harden CanAssist.

Harden CanAssist has jumped into 2024 with both feet, with plenty of opportunities organised to raise money to help people in our communities with their cancer journey.

The group hosts monthly raffles, and volunteers will be outside IGA on: Thursday, February 29 and Saturday, March 2; and

Thursday, March 21 and Saturday, March 23.

They are still looking for volunteers to help with raffle rosters, so if you have a couple of hours to help out call Carol Barker on 0433 803 784 or email harden@canassist.org.au.

Harden CanAssist called on the local community to help them raise money from cans and bottles.

The group has reached its first major milestone, with the community donating 50,000 cans and raising over $5,000 of vital funds to support local families.

This fundraiser allows them to earn the funds they need to make a difference as well as help the environment through energy savings equivalent to one year of a household’s energy consumption and avoiding the carbon emissions of two cars.

If you haven’t seen the Harden CanAssist collection bins around town and you’d like to donate cans, bottles or plastic containers, call Steve Pinney on 0422 284 962 and he will arrange a pick-up or talk to you about drop-off points.

Harden CanAssist will also host the Debutante Ball again this year - more information on that event as it approaches.
