The Aus Petroleum fuel station in Harden is open once again, thanks to a new owner. Mohammad Khan is the proud new owner of the fuel station and despite living in south west Sydney, expects to be in Harden weekly.
“I’m looking forward to being part of the local community and hope to get to know many other business owners and community members through the networking events run by HRDC and the Community Bank Harden Murrumburrah.”
“I understand the area was devastated by a natural disaster earlier this year, but I’ve seen in years gone by how vibrant Harden can be and hope to play a part in revitalising the central shopping area,” said Mohammad.
While the full renovation of the station will take up to 12 months, fuel and convenience store purchases are already available, with the reopening of the station earlier this week.
“In the coming weeks and months, the number of convenience products will continue to grow and there will be lots of work being done on the fuel station itself, including painting the exterior of the building and the installation of new fuel bowsers,” said Mohammad.
Aus Petroleum will soon be offering local employment opportunities as well as products and services tailored to the local community.
The CEO of the Harden Murrumburrah Regional Development Corporation (HRDC), Melissa Pinney said, “We are excited to have a new business owner that is really committed to supporting our local community in its recovery. Mohammad is already working with HRDC on collaboration opportunities with other local businesses and community groups and Aus Petroleum will be a great asset to our twin towns.”
To kickstart the reopening, Mohammad is offering a community discount for locals.
“Any local resident will get a 4 cents per litre discount for fuel purchased from Aus Petroleum in August and September 2025.”
